FIRST SIGHT

I go out there to find what is inside. I am always on the lookout for something visual, that thing that catches my eye - or what Ludwig Kirchner referred to as the "ecstasy of first sight".

I think of painting as a two-dimensional equivalent of my feelings and as a response to that initial impulse.
